Open Play and Guided Play sessions are designed for players who already have a foundational understanding of American Mahjong and can independently read the NMJL card, build hands, and participate in gameplay.

While instructors may be available to answer questions, provide strategy tips, clarify rules, and offer guidance during gameplay, these sessions are not intended to serve as beginner instruction or a substitute for Mahjong 101 or introductory lessons. Players who are brand new to Mahjong should register for a beginner class before attending Open Play or Guided Play. Mahjong Social Club Jax reserves the right to recommend a beginner class if a participant requires foundational instruction beyond the scope of the event.
